a bicycle rant
so... the weekend in st. louis was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! which meant i spent as much time as possible outside enjoying it. i went on 4 bike rides this weekend... and got yelled at by douchebags in passing cars on 3 of those rides. 3 out of 4 rides. and today i got icecream or something along those lines thrown at me. i don't get it. why do some people in cars feel obligated to do this? are they protecting "their" road? share the fucking road, assholes. seriously.

Cowardly douchebags. They only do it because they know they can get away.
Very true Bob. I had a carload long ago throw something at me. but they did not get away. I caught them at a red light. They proved not to be so though then.
so, since posting this, it got me to thinking. back when i lived in california and rode my bike to the office everyday for about a year, i cannot remember ever once getting yelled at. really makes me wonder whats up with st. louis motorists?
Josh, I think it's all about a false sense of entitlement to the road, and ignorance. I think a lot of St. Louisans have an idea of how the "big city" is supposed to work, and that falls into play with the stereotypes of how NYC, etc. used to be: rude douches with no patience for anyone else. I love this city, but man are there some dumb-asses around here or what?
From one cycler to another, I feel ya pain man!
